Homemade strawberry jam

Finally, I can make my own strawberry jam. Got the recipe from wendyinkk, it is so simple with ingredients which are easily found around. No pectin, no coloring and no preservative added. I made half the recipe (but reduce the sugar) yesterday.  It turned out so good, really shop-bought jam alike, even better in its taste I believe. I really like this recipe, it is a keeper!

Bye bye shop-bought strawberry jam ... ha ha

Homemade Strawberry jam
Recipe from wendyinkk of Table for 2...or more

Ingredients:
500 strawberry (I used 250 gr hulled strawberry)
1 green apple (I used manalagi apple - 77 gr)
1 lemon (I used half lemon)
350 gr sugar (I used 100 gr sugar)

Methods:
Rinse the strawberries under cold running water. Hull, slice in half and weight 250 gr.
Peel and grate the apples.
Zest and juice the lemon.
combine all  ingredients in non-reactive pan (stainless steel or glass) and cook on medium heat (lid off) until it feel spongy. Do not need to wait until it really thicken. It will set when cooling.
Remove and store in jars that are already sterilized in hot water.
Enjoy!

    1. Hi Zoe,
Thanks for visiting and following me, it's such an honour :D
The apple makes this jam tasteful and faster to be set. Besides, if we use sweet apple we can reduce the sugar a little ;)
